The managed explosion of a World War Two bomb in Exeter has left a crater within the floor and properties with “structural damage”.

The 2,200lb (1,000kg) German bomb was blown up on Saturday after hundreds of individuals had been evacuated from their properties.

Doors and home windows of close by properties had been blown out of their frames, whereas additional injury was achieved to roofs as particles was fired greater than 250m (820ft) via the air.

All residents had been allowed to return to their properties on Tuesday however a few of the properties had been “uninhabitable” in keeping with Exeter City Council.
